Who we are
Urban Develop (“we”) is a real estate development and construction company based in Montréal, Québec. This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website and in the course of answering inquiries.
As a private enterprise in Québec, we are subject to the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by the Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (commonly called Law 25). Where personal information crosses provincial or national borders in the course of commercial activity, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may also apply.
Who is responsible
The person in charge of the protection of personal information at Urban Develop can be reached by email at contact@urbandevelop.ca (subject line “Privacy”) or by mail at 275, rue Notre-Dame Est, Montréal (Québec) H2Y 1C6, Canada, to the attention of the person in charge of the protection of personal information.
What we collect
- Information you send us through the inquiry form or by email: your name, email address, and optionally your telephone number, organization, a site or project location and the content of your message.
- Technical information that our hosting provider records in server logs when a page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not load fonts, images or scripts from third-party services. A few preferences may be held in your browser for the duration of a visit; they are not used to identify you.
Why we use it
- To answer your inquiry and follow up on it.
- To evaluate a site, a project or a business relationship you have proposed.
- To protect the website against abuse and keep it secure.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for purposes other than those for which it was collected without your consent, except where the law permits.
Consent
By submitting the inquiry form, you consent to the use of your information for the purposes above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us; this will not affect what was done before the withdrawal.
Who we share it with
Personal information is accessible only to the people at Urban Develop who need it to answer your inquiry. We use service providers for website hosting, email and, where applicable, form delivery. They may process information only on our instructions and must protect it.
Some service providers may store information outside Québec. Before communicating personal information outside Québec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection, taking into account its sensitivity, the purposes for which it is used, the protection measures in place and the applicable legal framework, and we put a written agreement in place.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Inquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are generally deleted within two years. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and secure accounts with our service providers.
Your rights
Subject to the law, you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous, to withdraw your consent, to receive certain computerized information in a structured, commonly used technological format, and to have information de-indexed where its dissemination contravenes the law. Write to the person in charge at the address above. We will respond within 30 days.
Confidentiality incidents
If a confidentiality incident involving your personal information presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, and we keep a register of incidents as required by law.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or, where PIPEDA applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
